Won - Coming into the game Big Sticks were in first place at 5-1 and Beacon was 3-3 tied for third place. Another good night of fielding and this time we hit to our potential. Mark Davis played a great defensive game on the mound. Dennis remained hot at the plate going 4 for 4. I wish there were more stars to pass out for this game but since there are only three, I do want to give honrable mention to Joey(2 for 3, 2 runs, 1 rbi, & several put outs), George (2 for 4, triple, 2 runs, 2 rbi & called a great game at catcher) and Joe(0 for 2, 2 walks,, 1 rbi & nice plays at first). Won - A weak offensive showing. The lowest total runs scored in a softball game. Good defense especially George. Greg and George had run scoring triples. Lost - Started off leading 6-0 after 2 innings, and then the errors kicked in. We had another player strike out, making the total on the season three. We had our first foul language violation. Two players got hurt with hamstring pulls, Keith & Rob Hoeting. I was already on the bench with a hamstring pull and had to come in the game for Rob Hoeting. Dave Horne's buddy was good, Mike Cooper, and he was fast. Good outfielder. Officially only two Stars of the Game: 1st- Rob Ell (3 for 4, 1 double, 1 rbi, and 2 good scoops at first) 2nd - Dave Horne (2 for 3, 1 run, 1 double, 1 walk, 1 rbi and a couple of good diving stops at shortstop). |
