Welcome to the Web page of
a great soccer fan club: The Parakeets of Boston! We are a group
of USA residents whose beloved soccer team is RCD
Espanyol de Barcelona! These two guys in the picture above are Ricard
Garcia-Valls (left) and David Palomar (right), born some time
ago in two little towns very close to Barcelona...
They were the creators, along
with Christine DeMeo and David Gioia (two other devoted American soccerjunkies) of
this soccer fan club. Ricard works at MIT
(Massachusetts Institute of Technology). You can check his pages and learn about his scientific work
by clicking here! David is a Language Manager at
International Communications, a Framingham-based
company. They both are members of the club, even in the distance, and keep
in touch with Espanyol's current events thanks to a virtual space called
Ciberpenya,
a ciberspace intended to bring all Espanyol fans together and whose developers
were Jordi Grau
and Ernesto
Martí-Wetzel.

The background of these pages
is white and blue, which are the official colors of Espanyol and also the
name of a weekly magazine, called Blanc
i Blau, which in Catalan means "Blue and White." This
fully bilingual (Spanish and Catalan) publication features all the major
events, games, news, etc. concerning our team. You can request an annual
subscription for only $40 and they'll mail you the magazine. Support the
Parakeets!! Support Espanyol!!!
We are watching every game
on TV from Boston. But if you
happen to be in Barcelona, a visit to our Stadium is a must... Do you remember
the Barcelona '92 Olympic Stadium? Well... this is also OUR Stadium: Estadi Olímpic de Montjuic!!
