Meirion's fledglings stumble again. The boys in Black and Green seem
unable to shake off this losing feeling and, once more, they fell behind
to an early goal. Bangor bought with them about half the crowd, an
organised team and a new manager. They made seven changes to the team listed
in the programme, but so did Aber. Their fans kept up a barrage of noise
throughout and travelled back north in high spirits after beating the
Seasiders more comprehensively than the final scoreline suggests.
Like Connah's Quay before them Bangor specialised in missing open goals
and easier chances than the two which came their way. Om 13 minutes, Bryan
Griffiths gave the visitors the lead and on 38 minutes, Alun Evans
restored it. Aber levelled in between through a stunning solo assault on
the Bangor defence by Matthew "this man is the future of all Welsh football"
Harrison. He skidded on his arse in a sort of inverted diving celebration.
The second half contained desperation from Aber, for whom Martyn Griffiths
did not play and Steve Williams may as well have not bothered turned up.
For Bangor, teir defence held firm and there were good performances from
Higginbotham and some other players whose names I'm not 100% sure of
(Do we really want to know! Ed).
No one, except Tomsky, is asking for the manager's head and he's in Russia
now, so looks like Meirion will get another go.
