Eagles fall to unbeaten Yankton


Yankton wrapped up an undefeated girls' basketball regular season Friday night with a 49-37 ESD win over Aberdeen Central at the Civic Arena. The Golden Eagles, who finished 12-6, made Yankton work for its 18th win. Central wiped out an eight point halftime deficit with an 8-0 run to start the third quarter, then fell behind by seven early in the fourth quarter before mounting another rally. Amy Fauth's three-pointer brought the Eagles to within four (37-33) with 5:23 to play, but Central would get no closer. Katie Heine led the Gazelles with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Dawn Sillman led Central with nine points and Hilary Aden added eight.
