Sioux Falls Roosevelt turned away Aberdeen Central's upset bid at the Civic Arena, winning a 49-42 game to stay unbeaten through 14 games this season. With the loss, Central drops to 11-4. The number two ranked Roughriders led by a dozen after 3 quarters, 38-26, but the Golden Eagles refused to go down without a fight. With Roosevelt's 6'-3" tandem of Shannon Kollis and Melanie Krumvieda clogging up the lane, the Eagles went to a perimeter attack that produced a 13-5 run to start the fourth quarter. Three 15 footers by Hilary Aden sparked the run, and a Shara Bishop fast-break basket followed by an Amy Fauth 3 pointer brought the Eagles to within 43-39 with 3:28 to play. Roosevelt all-stater Nicole Tendler answered the challenge, scoring two baskets and a freethrow in the next 2 minutes to keep the Eagles from getting any closer. Dawn Sillman, who hit three 3 pointers, and Aden, led the Eagles with 11 points each.
