Sillman leads Eagles past Huron

Aberdeen Central continued its recent trend of dominating teams in the second half, opening the third quarter with a 14-2 run on its way to a 56-47 ESD win over the Huron Tigers. The win at the Civic Arena was the Golden Eagles' fourth straight and raises their record to 5-1. Central led 19-18 at the half. After Huron's Amanda Zihlman scored to give the Tigers a 20-19 lead, the Eagles ran off a 14-0 run. Dawn Sillman hit a pair of 3 pointers and Hilary Aden scored a pair of baskets in the lane in the run. The Central defense allowed Huron to get off only four shots during the run. Jen Murphy said, "We've just been going hard for four quarters, especially on defense. We seem to have more left at the end of the game than the other teams." Sillman led the Eagles with 23 points, followed by Murphy with 10. Central continues to play without senior reserve center Shara Bishop, who is sidelined with an ankle injury.
