



Sturgis cruises past Golden Eagles
Aberdeen Central hung around through three quarters, but the Sturgis Scoopers all-stater Megan Mahoney found her rhythm in the fourth quarter and the Scoopers ran past the Eagles 47-30 on Saturday night in the Sturgis gym. Megan Mahoney scored a game high 21 points for Sturgis including 15 in the second half. The Scoopers were able to hold Aberdeen at bay also by hitting on 9 of 12 freethrows in the final quarter. For the eighth straight game, Central stuggled offensively, shooting just 20 percent from the field for the game. Central drops to 4-4 on the year and plays ESD opponents Brookings and Brandon Valley on the road next weekend.
