Kernels shoot down Eagles

Four days after upsetting undefeated Pierre, Aberdeen Central struggled all night against the Mitchell Kernels at the Kernal gym on Tuesday night. The Kernels recevied a great spark off the bench from a pair of seventh-graders - twin sisters Jenna and Jeana Hoffman, younger sisters of senior guard Sarah Hoffman. At times in the game all three Hoffman sisters were in the game controlling the tempo and scoring points. Jeana had 7 points, Jenna 6 and Sarah 6 as the Kernels evened the series with the Golden Eagles and put the second seed of District 3AA into a tie. Junior Randi Morgan led the inside attack for the Kernels, scoring 11 points, blocking 6 shots, hauling down 7 boards, and generally disrupting play in the paint for Aberdeen Central. The Eagles have now lost 5 of their last 6 games and host Watertown next Friday (October 16).
