Eagles run past Tigers

Aberdeen Central avenged a loss to Huron earlier in the season by soundly defeating the Huron Tigers 63-48 Friday night in the Arena. The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead on transition baskets forced by aggressive defensive pressure and led 18-6 after one quarter. Huron switched to a zone defense to try and slow down the Eagles in the second quarter with varying success. The Eagles led 34-19 at the half. In the third quarter, Huron was able to mount a rally and pull to within 7 at the end of the quarter 40-33, however the Eagles responded by scoring 23 points in the final quarter to push to the final margin of 63-48. The win marks the 8th in a row for Aberdeen Central who improve to 11-2 on the season. The Eagles are next in action on Friday night when they travel to Brookings, then host Pierre on Saturday night.
