The Golden Eagles improved to 2-0 on the season after cruising past Milbank 66-46 at the Civic Arena Friday night. The Eagles started slow, trailing 16-11 after one quarter, but Central's pressure defense began to take its toll midway through the 2nd quarter. Steals led to baskets by Dawn Sillman and Laura Graf and put Central ahead for good at 3:33 of the second quarter. Sillman also hit a big three pointer at the halftime buzzer to put the Golden Eagles up 34-30 at half. In the second half the inside game of Central showed its strength as Jen Murphy scored 16 of her 17 points after the break. The Eagles led by 11 at the end of the third quarter, and gradually pulled away for the 20 point win. Dawn Sillman led the Eagles in scoring with 26 points. The Golden Eagles are in action again tonite when they take on perennial power Mitchell at the Civic Arena.
