Golden Eagles sweep season series from Brookings

Playing in the Civic Arena for the first time in 5 weeks and trying to shake off last weekends two defeats, Aberdeen Central came up with a solid performance Friday night in defeating the Brookings Bobcats for the second time this season 49 - 37. The Eagles led the entire game, which was close throughout, but a great sequence of defensive pressure followed by transition baskets, supplemented by clutch free throw shooting down the stretch, helped Central pull away in the fourth quarter. Junior Dawn Sillman helped the run in the second half, scoring 14 of her 16 points in the second half. With the win, Central improves to 9-5 overall and can clinch the number one cede for the District 3AA playoffs with a win in any of their remaining 3 games. The Golden Eagles hit the road again tonight as they travel to Pierre.
