I have organized a preview for the World Cup. You could send in the Belgian team of which you thought would start the first match of Belgium on this World Cup, the match against the Netherlands of Saturday 13 June. There were 17 teams sent in and in the table below, you can see the number of times that each player was selected. 33 players were assumed to have a chance to start this match !! The players that actually did start the match are marked in blue.

Almost everybody was certain that 4 players would start the match : keeper Filip De Wilde, Lorenzo Staelens, and the 2 attackers Luc Nilis and Luis Oliveira. But the rest of the team seemed a lot more difficult to guess. Especially Philippe Clement and Vital Borkelmans were not at all expected in the team, the were only selected 1 and 2 times !! Eric Deflandre and Enzo Scifo were also very frequently in the teams. Deflandre didn't start the match against the Netherlands but he replaced Crasson allready after 20 minutes in the match. And Enzo Scifo was able to start the next match against Mexico.

4 players correct : 3
5 players correct : 5
6 players correct : 3

8 players correct : 1
