Space Shuttle Challenger blew up (January 28, 1986) - as a college junior, I was on my lunch break on a very cold day and saw the news story while I prepared my food
Gulf War erupted (January 16, 1991) - a friend an I were on church visitation before attending our men's Bible study and we heard the event on the car radio.
O.J. Bronco Chase in LA (June 10, 1994) - was sitting in the A&W Root Beer restaurant on Drake Ave in Huntsville hoping to watch some of the NBA Finals with a group of friends when we noticed this strange event on their TV set.
Bill Clinton Impeached (December 19, 1998) - was listening to the House proceedings on the radio in the car while Debbie bought vegetables at the Farmers Market near our house.
Terrorist Attack on New York and Washington D.C. (September 11, 2001) - was at work when word of one plane then two hitting the World Trade Center began to spread and the situation escalated into extreme tragedy
Space Shuttle Columbia blew up (February 1, 2003) - I had just prepared a hot bowl of oatmeal for Saturday breakfast saw the news story as I sat down

January 30-31, 1966 - Family stratded in motel in Pine Bluff, AR while trying to outrun freak 15-inch snowstorm during trip to visit my grandmother. Several all-time record lows for entire states were set that night.
July 13-14, 1966 - One of the Nation's Worst Heatwaves. Temperature at home in AR approached 110 as our window air conditioner unit broke.
August 17, 1969 - Vacationed in Biloxi, MS and Pensacola, FL mere days before Hurricane Camille. Saw Hurricane Watch flags on coast as we left for home.
April 3-4, 1974 - One week after learning we were moving to Cleveland Tennessee, we hear of their two damaging tornadoes during the Nation's worst Tornado outbreak on record. My home, fifteen years in the future, Huntsville, Alabama was also hit and mentioned on the news- they also had several tornadoes.
January 20-21, 1985 - Had snow flurries in Auburn, Alabama and the temperature fell to minus 7 (an all time record low) during one of the worst cold snaps in the Nation's history.
November 15, 1989 - On a day that saw temperatures in the 70's, a F4 Tornado ripped through southeast Huntsville killing 22 people and damaging numerous businesses and homes. Temperatures the next day stayed below 30 degrees and there were snow showers.
March 12-14, 1993 - Was stranded for 2 days in my apartment with two friends during 7-inch snow/blizard. Parents experienced 21 inch snow and no power for 88 hours in Tennessee.

(1-tie) Green Bay - even before they were great...I like the Favre and the college team atmosphere
(1-tie) Indianapolis - mainly because of Peyton Manning. I do like their coach and support cast as well.
(3) Atlanta - Been living near them for 28 years and seen them from worst to first. I do like their new owner, Blanks from Home Depot and Vick has made this team exciting to watch.
(4) Tennessee - never really liked the Oilers, but Nashville is so close the Titans have grown on me
