Yankees Update:
Hideki Irabu continuted his downward spiral, giving up five
earned runs, nine hits, two walks, two wild pitches, and a
homerun in three innings. The combination of Brian Boehringer,
Graeme Lloyd, and Ramiro Mendoza allowed only two more hits in
a combined five innings. Curt Schilling stuck out a career high
sixteen Yankees and allowed only one run on seven hits in eight
innings pitched.

Who's Hot:
The Philadelphia Phillies may be putting something together, or
they may just be getting awfully lucky. Whatever the case,
they're my hot team. Mike Lieberthal, Midre Cummings,
Scott Rolen, and the suddenly shining pitching staff are
performing beyond expectations and have made this team the 27th
best in the majors, passing the Athletics with their win over the
Yankees. Look out Cubs, you maybe next.
