Welcome to
Alt.Binaries.Pictures.Female.Combat-Sports

The website about the Usenet newsgroup

Here you'll find everything you need to know about the only newsgroup dedicated to images of women practicing all forms of combat sports!

Let's start with the basics:
Q.Why a new newsgroup?
A.Because there was no place on Usenet that fit the specialized needs of a growing number of enthusiasts regarding this subject...

Q.What about alt.sex.fetish.wrestling, or alt.amazon-women.admirers?
A. ASFW, as its name implies, deals primarily with the subject of wrestling, is non-gender-specific (i.e., it includes pictures of men) and, as of late 1997, became so inundated with spam (due to being part of the alt.sex hierarchy) to become virtually unreadable. AA-WA deals mostly with female bodybuilders and women of amazonian proportions (the very tall, very strong, very muscular, etc) and by nature is a discussion group, not a binaries group. Although always good for the occasional boxing or wrestling pic, AA-WA's focus is strength and size, not skill and competitive spirit.

Q.What do you mean by "combat sports"?
A.In this context, any sport that involves a physical confrontation between two or more participants; primarily, but not exclusively, this means boxing, wrestling, martial arts, fencing, etc. For example, military exercises are combat-related (if you wanna stretch the analogy) but are not sports, so they don't count. Basketball and Hockey are sports, but are not combat-related, (well, that's not their main focus, anyway....) and thus don't count. Fencing and other rapier-and-sword activities would count, because they are considered to be "sports" and are a form of "combat".

Q.What would be a typical "on-topic" posting and what would be an "off-topic" posting?
A. The ideal posting would be a two-(or three-, or ten-) part posting, the first being a description of a picture, or details on an index for multiple pictures, and the second (and subsequent) being graphical content relating to women participating in combat sports. Like "karate.jpg (0/1)" would be comments on a picture of a woman doing a karate kick and "karate.jpg (1/1)" is the picture itself. Also, questions or comments regarding combat sports, like an announcement about a female boxing website, either by a vendor or a generous fan, or an alert to wrestling-related content on TV or in a movie, would be on-topic. Requests for additional pictures of a certain series, discussions on a particular combat video, warnings against a particular female-combat-merchandise vendor, all these would be on-topic. Discussions about the subject of admiring fighting females, and the sociological impact of same, etc, would be on-topic and encouraged. Spam, ads for stuff not having to do with female combat, pictures of men fighting or sheep fighting or people having sex or sheep having sex, cross-posted flames, "me, too"s (just cause they're irritating, even if on-topic), pictures of your cat or your Mom (unless she's fighting someone), all would be no-no's. I think everyone's been a newbie at some point, so some initial cluelessness may be tolerated, with a quick nudge to review this FAQ.

One important thing to keep in mind is a certain degree of tolerance balanced with a certain degree of common sense and playground- level rules of fairness; that is to say, don't push people around unless you wanna get pushed around, or taken out behind the gym to get wedgie'd into a catatonic state. People of all walks of life, genders, races and preferences will want to have a say and they are entitled to their opinion. Feel free to contribute to a discussion unless it has deteriorated into a name-calling match. Then steps WILL be taken. This is not a moderated newsgroup for a reason, but those who feel their calling in life is to rain on other people's parades may find themselves getting mail from their ISP admin, warning 'em about potential loss of service. This is a SERIOUS warning! Usenet is not (as some people seem to think) a public forum for anger-management-therapy experiments. If you can't work and play well with others, my condolences and my wish for securing much-needed help, but don't bring your fragmented ego here. Also, we anticipate some flak over the word "female" in the name of the group. Yes, this is alt.binaries.pictures.FEMALE.combat-sports. If anyone feels this is discriminatory, they are free to start alt.binaries.pictures.MALE.combat-sports, or
alt.binaries.pictures.BISEXUAL.combat-sports, or
alt.binaries.pictures.CROSSDRESSERS.combat-sports, or
alt.binaries.pictures.PRE-OP TRANSSEXUALS.combat-sports, or
whatever they want, by taking the steps I did to start this group.

Q.What about "foxy-boxing", topless wrestling, catfighting, etc?
A. What about them? No, seriously, those have a home here, too...I'll illustrate my point with one name: Christine Dupree. Now here's a woman who is trained as a martial artist, who has won several amateur kickboxing fights and a couple of sanctioned matches, who recently won her first three fully-sanctioned boxing matches, and yet has no qualms about making some of the fluffiest, yet highly enjoyable, foxy-boxing, foxy-kickboxing (a subgenre I'd venture to say she pioneered) and nudie-wrestling videos ever, for just about every vendor under the sun. Why not? I say more power to her. Cynthia Rothrock's movies are some of the goofiest (and most enjoyable) on earth, yet her record as a forms and weapons champion is still unmatched. We take the sugar *and* the spice here, folks, or (to quote the title of a recent female-boxing pay-per-view event), the Leather *and* the Lace....

Q.I don't seem to be able to access the newsgroup...what should I do?
A. First make sure that you have a newsgroup client on your system. I know to the savvy user this may sound silly, but to the newbie it's not quite as obvious as you'd think. Older browsers like Internet Explorer 2 and Netscape 1.1 could access the news:// protocol without a problem, displaying newsgroups on the browser itself. IE4 and Communicator expect either their own suite-based app or a 3rd-party program. If you are using IE3.x, make sure Internet Mail and News is installed and read the help files to configure the news side of the app. Same with Navigator 3 flavors...there's some kind of news-reading app in there somewhere. IE4 and Communicator make this even easier with Outlook Express and Messenger, respectively. However, if you don't have/want a browser installed, you'll need a stand-alone newsgroup reader. My choice is Free Agent, a freeware news app that is very reasonably sized (and ya can't beat the price!), easy to install and easy to use. Otherwise, if already have a newsreader installed and working, but STILL can't get the group, there's a chance your Internet Service Provider doesn't carry the group. Check your ISP's documentation (go to the main website or check any documentation that came with any software you use to connect) to find out who is in charge. Often there is a specific contact listed for news-related issues. Send 'em an e-mail and ask 'em...don't be shy about it. You're the customer, and we're all adults here. If they say no, we don't carry that newsgroup, ask 'em why, and if you don't get an answer, or don't like the answer, remember: you can get another connection to the Internet. Shop around, check out other ISP's, ask 'em about newsgroup policies, etc. It's your money. As for you online service users (AOL, Prodigy, MSN, etc), I know AOL does carry the newsgroup, but can't vouch for any of the other services, or if all newsgroups are carried by all online services, etc. The newsgoups are usually easy to access and configure, but you may get the above-mentioned silent treatment when inquiring about the absence of a certain group. Again, it's your buck... if you're not happy with what you're getting, drop 'em and look elsewhere.

If there is ANYTHING you feel I have not covered here, please feel free to send e-mail to the address I have set-up specifically for this purpose: abpfcs@hotmail.com, and please be patient with me on getting a response...I have a life, too, y'know....

So there you have it. If you feel you'd like to see examples of what you'd find on the newsgroup, click the button below and check out some links to sites that feature the kind of content you'll see represented on the group. WARNING: Some of these sites will contain some adult language, adult situations, partial or total nudity, and all of them will feature images of women participating in some downright violent behavior. If you feel this is not your cup of tea, then stay away! Also, this is not meant to be an all-encompassing list of links, and most of the sites will have links of their own if you wish to further delve into the wondeful world of female combat sports. So, if you are OK with all that, then enjoy, and I'll see you on the newsgroup!

Sincerely,
King Dice, a.k.a. KBLUV
