This is where I will update you on the funny stories I get from the people that still work there (though the number is dwindling).
4/00 - Geez, who would have thought that I had become so non-disgruntled that I wouldn't update the site in over a year. Well, I may have some juicy stories soon, as I will be making my triumphant return to the park soon. Someone is giving me some free passes to the park. I would like to thank this person alot, and your name will be witheld to protect your innocence.
I did see something funny on the news last week. They were testing out their new ride like the night before the park opened, and a bunch of people who worked there got stuck on it.
I also heard that the same ride that some kid got killed on last year, was shut down the entire first day. Also, like every big ride in the park went down "Code 2." If you don't know what that means...It ain't good.
12/98 - Sorry it has been so long since an update, but I'm just not as disgruntled as I once was. There is so much to update everyone on.
First off, about two months ago, we finally got linked on a major site. Disgruntled.com!! Go to the links page, and check it out.
One of the main reasons that I have been so busy lately is that I recently got engaged, and am in the process of moving someone down here to VA.
As for not being disgruntled anymore, you don't have to worry, I'm going to try to keep up my site. It's just hard to come up with material anymore, now that I don't know anyone working there anymore.
As far as news about 'that damn place', I can't really remember anything good happening. I had heard some good rumors, though. One about someone fairly high up in the management scheme getting fired over sexually harrassing guests and associates. Also, I heard some stuff about the new crappy ride. Stuff about it getting stuck, some stuff blowing up, and just how crappy of a ride it is. Of course, most of these are rumors, and I have no clue if they are true or not, so don't blame me if I'm way off. But wouldn't it be cool if all this was true.
Luckily, I never made it back to the park this past season. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for the new ride to open, and by the time it finally did, I couldn't find any free passes. Not like I'm gonna pay 30 bucks a pop to go to 'that place.'
And, finally, I appeciate all the new visitors. I've been here since September of 97, and it took me almost a year hit 1000 people, but I'm almost to two thousand now! Thanks alot, I'm glad some people out there believe in the plight of the amusement park worker.
7/11/98 - That park just makes it way too easy for me. I almost shouldn't put this one in because it is just so easy. But I like taking pot shots, so here goes. Their new ride..let's call it, oh, i don't know...the Never Gonna Be Finished Coaster...was suppossed to have opened as they said "In 1998"...it didn't open with the rest of the park as noted below. So then, the commercials were changed to "Coming in Late Spring"..nope, didn't happen, it's still not open. The last commercial I saw with it said "Coming Soon"...well, that was a few weeks ago, and now they don't even mention it in the commercials. Does any one else see what is happening here? Sweep it under the carpet, and no one will ever notice...the dang thing is like the second tallest thing in the park, how can you not notice? So, as a consolation prize, they change one of their old crappy rides into a new crappy ride. Who cares? I can play the video game of this "new" ride, and have more fun.
7/98 - One thousand strong!!! The compund has had over a thousand visitors. I was give out a prize to whoever was the one thousandth customer, but that was me!
4/98 - We hit 666 people who have visited. What a milestone! I wish I could keep the counter there forever! But, life moves on, and maybe someday we'll be able to celebrate other such important numbers as 1984 and 5150.
3/98 - As I drive past the park everyday on my way to my real job, I notice that the new ride is still not finished. I laugh my ass off all the time about this. They claim it will be ready in "Late Spring." Most people think late spring means May, but in their mindset, it probably means about July or August. Of course that is if it runs at all.
2/98 - The cycle is starting again. Another season of hell for many unlucky people who have to still work there. Reports are flooding in quickly, and I gotta tell you, I've got some good stories to tell, I just need authorization from the people they involve before I go getting anyone in trouble. The park is just anal enough to get people in trouble for dumb things said on this stupid webpage.
1/6/98 - Area managers returned to work today in the Rides Department! Guess what they did, they rearranged the desks in the offices! Amazing, I never thought it could happen! What innovators! I never saw it coming. To see the new seating arrangement, click here.
10/20/97 - The militia has learned of the parks plans to add a new section to the park in 1998. Click here to see the new logo for their exciting new themed area. (Sorry, the link was removed because the picture could possibly get me in trouble)
9/97-10/97 - As I drive past the park every day, I happen to notice that they can't even keep their sign working. Half of the lights on it are burned out, so I guess that they finally gave up and turned it off for like 3 weeks. Last week, they turned it back on, but it still isn't working right.
8/97 - "The mountain", as we'll call it, caught on fire. Some dumbass construction people working on the new ride were smoking or something, left some cigarette butts on the ground, and they ended up catching like the back third on fire. Nobody even noticed for like half an hour either.
