THE TRAGEDY  A LOOK AT THE PAPERS...  WHO AM I, ANYWAY?  WRITE TO ME

August 1999: click here for an update on investigations into the crash.
July 2002: Well, well, well. Here I am visiting this relic of a site, five years after the crash, and I find that people are still coming to this place, linked mostly from here. God bless you all. I have tried, since 1997, not to make these lives count for nothing. As I wrote immediately after the incident, "If not for the crash, we would not be reminded of the fragility of life". So, let's not forget, okay folks? Make each day a desperate attempt to live.
March 2003: Another year, another visit. The newspaper report has gotten less painful to see, of course. I am glad this website exists as a reminder, an eternal epitaph carved in binary code.

Always Remembered

Title:Tell Me What It's Like To Fly
dedicated to the teachers who died in the MI 185 plane crash

Tell me what it's like to fly
riding on a plane
watching birds go soaring by,
wings wet in the rain.
Dwelling with the clouds
that by the plane float past,
Knowing you'll be home
when it lands at last.

Isn't it strange how God works?
Oh, but we're merely flesh
So you and I will never know
when a plane might crash.

Many times I've wondered
how you felt the pain;
What a dear, dear price you paid
to be free again.
You really did go Home
when the plane touched down,
You will be missed and wept for
because you're not around.

So tell me what it's like to fly
with angel wings spread wide,
Soaring on your way to heaven
where no one's ever cried.
