Stephanie started having contractions at 2:30am Monday morning. At 4:30, she had another one and another at 5:15. She was able to get to sleep so she didn't think anything of it. At 7:00am, she had another, and another, and another. I figured I should probably start timing them. Steph already had a doctors appointment made for 8:00am that day, so I decided to drive her to the appointment since she was having contractions about every 3 minutes. While at the doctors, the contractions didn't slow down. The doctor checked her and suggested we go upstairs and get signed in. This took us a little off guard because we figured this was false labor, or the Braxton-Hicks contractions. So we went upstairs to the maternity ward and got settled into our room and I started making phone calls to the grandparent and aunts to be. After about 10 hours of labor, Zayden William Butler was born at 8:46pm weighing 9 lbs 6 oz and measuring 21.75 inches. Both Stephanie and Zayden are doing great. |
