Trip to Georgia

Jaime and Kim

6/02/00-06/04/00: Well, I recently traveled to Georgia to see my dearest friend Kim McVey who I was very close to and even dated for a short period of time while we were in High School. She and I haven't seen each other in 3 some odd years. I arrived around 10:30 on Friday the 2nd of June. Kim met me at the gate and she and I proceeded to go to her place of employment. She is working for a tv company Tribune. I watched her and some colleagues work on tv stuff. It was kinda cool to watch. After her work day we went back to her place (Very nice by the way). I was impressed with her living arrangements. Met her friend Dan who is a chiropractor in the area while she was getting her back adjusted. He is a very nice guy. Didn't have the pleasure of meeting Dan's wife as she was out of town. Later that evening we went to Dinner at Dante's where they specialize in Fondu (Not sure of spelling). It was delicious. We were joined by Kim's roommate Heather, her ex-roommate Dave, and Dan. It was good dinner. After dinner Dave, Kim and I went out for a night on the town. We went to Buckhead where bars are in abundunce. It was a good evening. Saturday we went for breakfast at Manhattan Bagel, and then proceed to pick up a lunch to bring with us to the Atlanta Braves game which we got tickets to. They were playing the Yankee's. Whatta game. After the game we had plans to meet up with the crew of WB network where Kim interned and Meet Ron Lester (Billy Bob in the movie Varsity Blues, and actor in the new series Popular). After meeting Ron and getting a picture with him he was presented with the key to the town in which he grew up Acworth, GA. It was nice time. Ron is a funny guy. After that we were invited to join the WB crew for dinner at Pizza Hut. Sunday we met some of Kim's regulars at Manhattan Bagel. Nice people. It was raining on Sunday so Kim and I decided to catch an afternoon movie. We saw Rules of Engagement. I highly recommend it. After the movie it was just about time for me to go to the airport and catch my plane. The moment I had been dreading all weekend, the end of my vacation. I am looking forward to seeing my dear friend Kim again when she visits Connecticut in a couple of weeks. I hope that despite our distance she and I can maintain the great friendship we have had over the years.
