ATHENA- I recently took a trip to Europe and spent much of my time
in CD stores (looking for stuff I can't get in the states of course!). I must
have been in 10 CD stores in Brussels, Belgium and Paris, France. While I was
in the "Virgin Megastore" (which I only know of 3, Brussels, Paris and
L.A. and if you know of anymore please
email me), I found Athena's
CD entitled "Inside the Moon".
This CD may have some of the most brilliant music I've ever heard. These guys are true musicians who know how to get the most out of their instruments. They remind me a lot of Dream Theater and later works by Savatage (such as "Chance" on "Handful of Rain"). This band could really go places...once they replace their frontman. Their current lead singer may be a good singer, but not compatible with this style of music, I'm not sure. But they really do need to find someone better.
For those of you in the United States that wish to get their CD, the only place I've seen it available on the web is at CDEurope. Also, I can't find anything on this band on the web, so if you know of an Athena site, or at least one that refers to Athena, please let me know.
