Clara's Lilypad

WELCOME, Welcome, welcome!!

RRIBBITT!! Thank you for visiting 'my place.' This site is always under construction so please excuse the dust. Anytime I learn something new, I always experiment with my own site. If there is something weird or out of place--I'm working on it!! But I would like to give some info about myself!

I am a recent graduate from San Jose State University in San Jose, CA. I majored in Developmental & Social Psychology, I also earned a minor in Women's Studies. I took many years but I did it, and now I have a degree to show off! Like most students I held a part-time job to support my shopping habits and to pay off the tuition. But all in all, college life was pretty great. :)

A few more months have passed by and I'm not a full-fledged employee at a company called Dennis Foland, Inc. I work in the Creative Services Department. It's a satisfying job, but most of all FUN! Samples come in and out everyday and there's always something going on. Hopefully, I will be here for a while.

I recently took a trip to Asia (December 1998). It was GREAT! I visited Seoul, Korea; Bangkok & Pattaya, Thailand; Singapore, Hong Kong and Guilin, China. I must say my suitcase was in disarray because I had the heavy winter clothing for Seoul and Guilin, and I had light, summer clothing for Thailand and Singapore. Hong Kong was the only place that allowed me to wear a tee-shirt and jeans without sweating to worrying about being too cold.

For the first time in my life, I visited Hawaii in January 1998!! Oh, what a beautiful place. Wonderful weather--80F temps with a slight tropical breeze to cool the hot air. I miss it so much already. I visited Oahu and Maui. In Oahu, I stayed in Waikiki like all the other tourists visiting the island. There were many people, shops, nightlife and things to do. Of course I visited Hanauma Bay for snokelling and swimming with the fish, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and the Dole Pineapple Plantation. In Maui I stayed at Lahania (I think that's the spelling), the biggest city on the east side of Maui. Unfortunately, I didn't go snokelling there because the tides were just too high. The whole week was just great.

Meet my pet frogs (yes, FROGS!!):
To make me feel better, a my boyfriend, now fiance, gave me an Argentine horned frog, better known as a Pac-Man frog. I even got a picture of him (which I took off 'SCULB's pickle page)

Meet KERMIT:

ISN'T HE CUTE?!?!?

When I got him, he was the size of a half-dollar coin, now he's about five inches in diameter. I've had him for about two years and is happily dining on "hopper" mice now. People say that Argentine Horned frogs don't do much, but since he's sitting in my room, it helps to look at him when I need to think or when I'm bored. Kermit seems to always have a worry-free look in his face. In way, he makes me feel relaxed as well. When he gets jumpy in his cage, I let him out. He likes to jump around in my room and hide in a corner by the door. In addition to Kermit, I have two other frogs, they are African Dwarf frogs. Both of them are like fish and constantly need to stay underwater to live. Occasionally, they do come up to the surface to breathe. They love hiding and resting in the live plant I got them. Jan and Dan dine on blood worms and when happy and content, they do make noises--but it's hardly a croak. The sound is more like someone playing the kazoo.
