Let us introduce ourselves. We are the YALE POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION(Y.P.B.A.), representing the Patrol Officers and Detectives of the Yale University Police Department. Our membership rolls are currently at approximately fifty-five members. We are a non-affiliated union with two consulting attorneys, five member Executive Board, and eight dedicated union stewards. We provide a variety of services to our members, including representation during disciplinary hearings, grievance meetings, and most importantly, contract negotiation services.
Speaking of contract negotiations, the Y.P.B.A., for the last sixteen months, has been attempting to negotiate a sucessor agreement to our 1992 contract. Unfortunately, we have had little success. Our members have not had a raise for over two years! Several important issues remain, including the main issues of pension, disability, wages, and EMPLOYEE BILL OF RIGHTS
