I think I'll gabber on about my thesis now since it seems to be taking over my life entirely now, but on August 31st 1999 I run into my department, hurl it at my supervisor as I sprint past her office, then go out and get falling over, kebab eating drunk, hurrah! Well below you can read a quick synopsis of what the hell I'm doing, download copies of my chapters as I write em and see some piccies of the horribly awkward primates concerned.
Hmm as I type this I was just looking up my old high school on the web, I'd found a webpage for them before and wanted to stick a link up here so you all could see the instsitution that moulded me, and know where to send parcel bombs in the future...mow i look it up, get maybe 50 odd results, some crap, some about one guy who's now playing college basketball in the states, one guy who is now a computer programmer (he was a complete trekky weirdo at school too, some things never change I guess). I get to result 25 and find" FREE TEEN LESBIANS..blah blah blah...bodily fluids!!orifices!!! etc etc etc" now how the hell did they get to that from the following? "Queen Anne High School Dunfermline"??????? just a little interlude for you there, back to my thesis.

"Modelling inbreeding in Old-World primates: Monopolisation of mating and dispersal in multi-male groups"
Catchy isn't it?

Right basically what  I'm looking at is whether the dispersal of individuals from groups (either the one they're born into or one they leave that to join) is done in order to avoid inbreeding with relatives..with me so far? Now an awkward git called Jim Moore argues that males (and it usually is males who leave in the Primates) leave because they are getting picked on by their big brothers(roughly speaking). Basically his theory is bollocks but hey, it gives me an arguement to dive into.

Click to read my results

And finally click here for my conclusions

And here's my bibliography if you're really keen (or just masochistic)

The foolhardy amongst you can download the whole thing here, it's saved as a  rich-text file so you may have to play about with word to make it let you see it. It's also 50 pages long so youd best have lots of toner and paper handy.

The background music you're hearing is from the classic film "Deliverance" an appropriate theme tune to this thesis I think, if you have no clue as to what the hell I'm talking about get the film out, it's damn fine. Click here for classic dialogue.

What I shout in mid-analysis due to stats not working.
