God says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) He tells us that every person has sinned and because of this sin we are separated from God. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Since we have this sin in our lives, we cannot live with God, and we are destined to spend eternity separated from Him in Hell.
He gives us a way out, though. "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Even though we do not deserve it, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, so that we can be saved from our sins. "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." (John 3:17) Jesus Christ did not come to tell us all how evil we are and to sentence us to death. He came to give us a new life in Him so that we may live.
"He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18) Here God tells us that if we do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior then we will spend eternity in Hell because we have turned our back on God and did not believe in His own Son. "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." (John 1:12) Everyone who does believe in Jesus Christ will be saved, though.
"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) This is because Jesus tells us that "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6) God did not give us another way out. The only way to be free from the sin that separates us from God is through Jesus Christ and no other.
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. For 'whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'" (Romans10:9-10, 13) All you have to do to be saved and receive this free gift of eternal life is to pray and tell God that you believe that His only Son, Jesus Christ, died for your sins so that you may be forgiven, and that you give your life over to Him because Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to his house and eat with him, and he with Me." (Revelation 3:20) Jesus tells us that if we invite Him into our life, His Spirit will live inside us, and His saving sacrifice will cleanse us from our sins.
If you would like to pray to recieve this new life just pray this prayer with all of your heart: "Dear Jesus, today I give my life to you. I believe that you died for my sins so that I may receive this new life with God. I thank you for saving me from my sins because I know that there is nothing that I can do on my own to be free from it. It is only through Your death and resurrection that I can be saved. I give my life to you, and I thank you for saving me. Amen." If you prayed this prayer with all of your heart, you can have the assurance that from this moment on you are no longer destined to spend eternity separated from God in Hell because you are now forgiven and Jesus Christ has brought you into the presence of God, forever.
