| Chi Omega's Mission Chi Omega is a sisterhood that provides a network of friends and lifelong development for collegiate and alumnae members. Chi Omega is committed to: -Personal integrity -Excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits -Intergenerational participation -Community service -Leadership opportunities -Social enrichment Chi Omega's Vision -To be the premiere national women's organization in the 21st Century; -To establish renewed value and respect for all women by promoting -High moral standards and ethics, -Personal growth, -Professional development, and -A network of friendship and support For Life! |
| Although much has changed since Chi Omega's beginning in 1895, these purposes have remained the same and the pursuit of their realization has made a difference in the lives of over 215,000 members. Chi Omega has always focused on the growth of its members - academically, socially, and emotionally, and has always stressed the intrinsic worth of each individual member. As Mary Love Collins, a former national president of Chi Omega, eloquently stated: "However magnificent Chi Omega's purposes, realization of them is determined by the ability of the individual members. Each individual's resourcefulness is in proportion to the strength of the desire to succeed, guided by intelligence. It is the strength of the desire that keeps the mind at work, constructively planning the ways to success. Intelligence guides the choice of the ways.". |
