Greeting from the Zeta Delta Chapter at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Chi Omega's are known on UNOmaha's campus as diligent students and active participants in campus activities. Chi Omega believes in putting scholarship first and the Zeta Delta Chapter has proven this by holding the highest GPA on the campus for the Fall and Spring semester. Likewise, the Zeta Delta Chapter has won the Scholarship Award and Fraternal Excellence Award the most out of all the Greek Lettered organizations on UNOmaha's campus.
As mentioned above, Chi Omega takes pride in extending its hand to the UNOmaha community. Chi Omega has made its presence known by being leaders in many campus activities. Chi Omegas have been involved in everything from Student Senate, Athletics, Student Programming Organization Chairs to Greek and Scholarship Honor Societies. It is a sure bet that where ever you go on UNOmaha's campus, you will see a Chi Omega running a meeting or behind the scenes of an event.
To better the community in which we live, the Zeta Delta sisters have contributed numerous hours of community service to local and nationally known organizations. Just this winter, Chi Omega Nationals announced a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. So to take an active role in it's interest, Chi Omegas spent a day helping wrap gifts at Oak View Mall to raise money for the Foundation.
In the past few years however, the Zeta Delta sisters have had an interest of their own in the literacy of our children. To help promote our READ ALOUD program, the sisters have made weekly visits to a local elementary school to read with the 2nd graders. As a gift to Mrs.Tighe's class we collected a hundred books for the children's classroom library.
Although we spend a lot of time focusing on our own philanthropies, it is not uncommon to see Chi Omegas helping out at various community events such as Volunteer Solution's Volunteer Day, or the Pi Kappa Alpha's attempt to raise money by selling popcorn for the Boy Scouts to name a few.
We may contribute a lot of our time to studies, community services and campus activities, but we never miss the opportunity to bond with each other. We have weekly dinners after Monday Night meetings; we go to Maverick and Husker Football games together; Sleep-overs, Dancing, and Retreats are always a fun time as well. In Chi Omega there is a true sisterhood. One built on trust, honesty and support. Chi Omega isn't just a club...it's friendships..
