The
virtual door is always open, and I hope you'll visit often. This page will
be used for links that are fun and useful, particularly if you have nothing
to do (or are writing a paper and have already alphabetized your CD collection
and have checked your e-mail at least twice). Feel free to browse, poke
around, take your shoes off if you'd like to . . . . just be careful that
nothing falls on you. The proprietor refuses to be responsible for accidental

Hello, I'm Cyber Prof (aka Dr. Kathleen
Kemmerer). This page is an annex to my "official" university page. This
will consist of some things that are outside the venue of my scholarly
work (Samuel Johnson
and the eighteenth century) and classes.
It will include some of my hobbies and other interests and maybe show another
side of my personality. Although I am an Assistant
Professor at Penn State Hazleton, this page has no connection to Penn
State University and Penn State is not in any way responsible for what
appears here although I will include some links to parts of my official
site including some unofficial Penn
State graphics some of which I created.
You can also visit my easy directions
for making web pages using Netscape Composer (an HTML editor that works
like a word processor). Some of my friends who have Geocities accounts
use GeoBuilder which is free to Geocities members, but I prefer Netscape
Composer which is free to anyone.
Science Fiction and Speculative Fiction
Reading and writing SF (speculative
fiction) has been a life-long hobby of mine. This site will have links
to SF books, a page or two devoted to my favorite SF author (Andre
Norton -- long may she live), links to some of the work
done on SF by my friends, and links to some of my other favorite
sites.
Coming
Soon: An on-line SF course that
you can take for free (no credit, though) and an e-group on SF --
because this is something I would like to participate in if I weren't
teaching the class!For
now, those not lucky enough to be able to take the class, register,
read the
required books for the class. You can email
me with any questions.
A new feature of
this site is links to some great merchants: ValueAmerica.com, where you
can shop for bargains on all kinds of things; GoTo.com, a search engine
where you can find anything; Egghead.com, where you can shop for bargains
on computers and software -- look for Surplus Direct.
