Assistant Coach Chris Webb
Chris Webb, a former standout at North Carolina Wesleyan College, is in her second season as assistant women's soccer coach at Campbell. Webb joined the Camels after serving two years in a similar capacity at her alma mater. A 1996 Wesleyan graduate, Webb ended her career as the leading scorer in Bishop history. She was a four-time All-Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and All-South selection. Webb participated in four NCAA Division III women's soccer tournaments and led the 1994 team to the Division III Final Four.
In addition to her soccer accomplishments, Webb was a four-year starter on the Wesleyan basketball team and tallied over 1,000 points while setting a school assists record in her career. She also helped the basketball squad to an NCAA Tournament appearance.
Webb, who earned her B.A. in criminal justice, was voted as North Carolina Wesleyan's Athlete of the Year for 1992-1993. She is pursuing a master's degree in physical education at Campbell.
Assistant Coach Michele Russell
Former Campbell goalkeeper standout Michele Russell is in her second year as a graduate assistant coach with the Fighting Camel program. The native of New York State spent her first two collegiate seasons at the United States Military Academy before transferring to Campbell.
In her two seasons at CU, Russell amassed a 1.30 goals-against average and seven solo shutouts in 30 appearances in net. She was selected third-team All-Trans America Athletic Conference in 1997 after compiling a 1.14 GAA to rank second in the TAAC, along with five shutouts. Russell earned team MVP honors and also gained TAAC All-Academic Team status for the second straight year.
In two years as the starting keeper at Army, Russell compiled a 1.65 goals-against average and 258 saves in 37 games. She ranked second nationally in saves with 171 in 1995.
Russell earned her B.A. degree in government from Campbell in 1998. The North Topsail Beach, N.C., resident is pursuing her M.B.A in the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business.
