Picking Up Pele
On Decemeber 19th, my mother accompinied me in driving to
Guide Dogs for the Blind, INC to pick up the
puppy we knew very little about. Until this day, all we knew about
our adorable puppy was his breed, gender and litter letter (Yellow
Labrador, male and "P" respectively). We also knew that two of his
litter mates would be raised in Yolo County, with my boy. Pele is the
6th guide dog puppy that I have raised in the past 10 years. (I
started when I was 12, and took a break my first 3 years of college).

Pele and I spent our first two weeks together visiting my
parents for the holidays. Pele and I spent the time getting to know
eachother, and introducing him to the other animals around their
house. He also accompanied the family to church and to a few other
places that only special dogs are allowed to visit.
