Rules to Blue Jay Billiards

Materials Needed:

-Pool Table -Pool Cue Ball

-Calculator(optional) -2 Pool Cues

-Piece of Paper -Triangle Rack

-Set of Pool Balls (1 to 15) -Writing Utensil

Object:

To be the one with the highest score at the end of the game.

Point System:

If someone puts a ball in a pocket that person gets the face value of the ball.
(Ex. 9 ball= 9 points, etc....)

If someone puts two balls in at one time then the point value is doubled.
(Ex. 9 & 3 ball= 9 + 3 * 2= 24)

If a player puts 3 balls in at one time the point value is tripled, etc.....
(Ex. 2, 3 & 10 balls= 2 + 3 + 10 * 3 = 45
(Ex. 2, 3, 8 & 10 balls= 2 + 3 + 8 + 10 * 4 = 92 etc.........

Penalties:

If a player scratches it is -2 points

If a player scratches and puts a ball in at the same time that player loses 2 points for the cue ball and also loses the value of the ball put in.
(Ex. Cue & 9 ball = -2 - 9 = -11)

If a player scratches with more than one ball, the player loses two points for the cue ball and the value of the balls added together and multiplied by the number of balls put in.
(Ex. Cue, 9 & 3 balls = ((-9 + -3)* 2) +(-2) = -26)
(Ex. Cue, 2, 3, 10 balls = ((-2 + -3 + -10)* 3) +(-2) = -47
(Ex. Cue 2, 3, 8 & 10 balls = ((-2 + -3 + -8 + -10)* 4) +(-2) = -94 etc.......

If the cue ball is knocked off the table it is -2 for that player. If the player puts balls in at the same time he knocks the cue ball off the table; use the multiplication rule above for the number of balls he put in.
(Ex. Cue, 9 ball = -2 -9 = -11
(Ex. Cue, 9 & 3 balls = ((-9 + -3)* 2) +(-2) = -26)
(Ex. Cue, 2, 3 & 10 balls = ((-2 + -3 + -10)* 3) +(-2) = -47)
(Ex. Cue, 2, 3, 8 & 10 balls = ((-2 + -3 + -8 + -10)* 4) +(-2) = -94) etc...........

Rules:

Rack 1-15 balls in order with triangle except the 15 balls goes in the middle. (Ex. 15 ball goes where the 8 ball goes in the game 8 ball).

Players must hit the lowest ball on the table first with cue ball to make any points.

You don’t lose any points for missing the lowest ball on the table but you do loss your turn.

If you don’t get any balls in after hitting the lowest ball on the table that turns the table over to your opponent.

If you do not have a shot at the lowest ball on the table you don’t have to attempt to hit it but you MUST give your opponent a clear shot to hit it!

You can give your opponent a clear shot by using a safety.
A safety is when you don’t attempt to hit the lowest ball on the table while giving your opponent a realistic chance at hitting the lowest ball.

If a player puts a ball(s) in a pocket without hitting the lowest ball first, the ball(s) are spotted back on the table

If you scratch with a ball(s), the ball(s) are spoted back on the table

Once all the balls are put in, the player with the most points is the winner.

If by chance there is a tie:
Rack with only 1-9 balls in 9 ball style with a diamond.
Play by the same rules above.
