The purpose of this article is to introduce the status of geo-scientific information technology developed in the Department of Mineral Resources, Thailand. The state-of-the-art of development on data system components for geological and mineral information is provided. This includes the database structure design, data in the system, database management technology being used and the application programs available to maintain the data system. Other parts of the information system i.e. hardware and software and networking as well as obstacles experienced and the futher plans to strengthen the system are mentioned as well.
