THE BOOK OF

JEREMIAH

Introduction: Named after Jeremiah the priest and prophet, this book offers extensive information and insight into the religious and political conditions in Judah during the last forty years before the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 B.C. Baruch, a faithful personal secretary of Jeremiah, very likely recorded these events and messages. More is known about the personal history of Jeremiah than about any other prophets in the Old Testament.
