Walkthrough

This is the first level and it should be a real breeze. Take the time in this level to get familiar with the L1 and L2 buttons used for strafing. You should be able to hold one of them and push the directional pad in the opposite direction and circle an enemy while shooting it.

From the beginning pick the view you would like to use with the Select button. I generally use the second view as it is exactly like the first view, but a little farther away.

You should first pick-up the first gem, then go to the left and jump the ramp. Make sure that when you land you either face, or strafe past the Gun Turret so you can shoot it before it shoots you. Strafing is the safest to do this because once you land, the Gun Turret will shoot at you, and you will want to get out of the way. If you go to fast and flip over after you land, press Triangle repeatedly until you flip over and can get out of the way of the Gun Turret. You can still shoot while you are flipped over, so if you land upside-down, but still facing the turret, go ahead and shoot it. For the first few levels all enemies only take one shot to destroy.

Next you will want to turn left again and jump off of the second ramp, strafing while in the air as to avoid the Spider's shots. Shoot the Wakka and continue up the last ramp to the other Gun Turret. Strafe past it's shots, shoot it, and pick-up the last gem. Finally turn to the left and touch the exit block with your rig to finish the level.

Tricks

In case you didn't see this while you were heading towards the exit block, there is a corridor connecting the first area (where the first gem is located) and the last area (where the last gem is located). Since you start out facing the complete opposite direction from this corridor, it is very easy to miss it until you get close to the exit block.

There's no real point to going through this corridor unless you are in a hurry to get through the first level and don't want to be bothered with shooting the Gun Turrets or Wakka.
