Consultations are by appointment every morning and afternoon. These are made by either telephoning or calling at the surgery. Please book well in advance for routine appointments. Please inform us as soon as possible if you require to cancel you appointment so that we can give your appointment to someone else. If you cannot wait for a routine appointment then you may be seen at the end of the morning surgery or before the start of the afternoon surgery. Such consultations will be brief to avoid long delays for other urgent cases. Please phone the surgery as early as possible if you need to be seen the same day. Whenever possible please make every effort to come to the surgery rather than request a home visit. This allows the doctor to spend more time with you and have easier access to medical facilities to help deal with your problems. When a visit is necessary it is helpful if your request is made as early as possible. The receptionist may ask you to discuss your request for a home visit with the doctor. The out of hour service is based at Lightburn Hospital until midnight and Stobhill Hospital after midnight. The emergency centres are in the outpatient clinics in both hospitals. Your details will be taken by a receptionist and you may be asked to discuss your problem with the nurse or doctor. Please attend the centre if possible. House calls are only for seriously ill or housebound patients. 0141-531-6620 will connect you with the out-of-hours emergency service. |
