Surgery Opening Times

The Health Centre is open from 8.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Saturday mornings
are for emergencies only and the Health Centre is open from 9.00am till 12.00 noon. There
are parking facilities available, and reserved parking for the disabled, with a ramped
enterance,a lift, and disabled toilets.

Dr Alexandra M Mackenzie (Female)
B.Sc. M.B. Ch.B. D.R.C.O.G. M.R.C.G.P. (St. Andrews 1981)

G.P. Registrar - The Registrar works with the Practice from August to July every year.
The Registrar is a fully qualified doctor who is gaining experience as a G.P. and who
at all times provides the same standard of care as the other doctors.


The Practice Team

PRACTICE MANAGER : Mrs Beth Mail

Mrs Beth Mail is responsible for the day to day running of the practice and supports the other team members and doctors. She will be pleased to discuss any non-medical problems you may have and also receive any suggestions for improving the services offered. Should you have any complaints, please address them to her and she will give them her attention.
RECEPTIONIST : Mrs Pat Sharp

Mrs Pat Sharp is the receptionist for both mornings and afternoons. She is there to help you and may therefore require to ask you medical details. All information given to her is given to her in strictest confidence. Mrs Janey O'Hara will be in attendence at the reception desk between the hours of 1.00pm and 3.00pm daily.
PRACTICE NURSE : Sister Shona Henderson R.G.N R.M. DIP.ASTHMA F.P.Cert

Sister Henderson holds health screening clinics at the surgery - these include asthma and diabetic clinics, hypertension clinics, well woman clinics which include cervical smear testing and breast examination, and will give dietary/ weight advice. She is available by appointment from Monday to Friday Tel: 0141-531-6620 and offers a wide range of services which include : HEALTH PROMOTION, BLOOD TESTS, CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATIONS and TRAVEL VACCINATIONS.
DISTRICT NURSE : Sister Christine Kilpatrick

The District Nurse is based at the Health Centre and supports the Doctors in the management of their patients, both at the Surgery and at home.
HEALTH VISITORS

The Health Visitors are based at the Health Centre also and are responsible for maintaining the health of the pre-school children and the elderly population. They assist the Doctor with childhood immunisations and where necessary pay domiciliary visits to the homes of the under 5's and the elderly population.
MIDWIFE

The Midwife supports the Doctor at the Antenatal and Postnatal Clinics held here in the Health Centre. She also provides care at the home where necessary.
FILING CLERKS : Mr John Allan and Mr Gerry Elliot

Mr Allan and Mr Elliot are the filing clerks who keep the medical records of all the patients in good order and make them available to the Doctors and Nurses as and when required.
COMPUTER OPERATOR : Mrs Jane O'Hara

Mrs Jane O'Hara is the computer operator who is responsible for producing all the repeat prescriptions for the Doctors. She is also responsible for using the computer to assist in administrative tasks. All information is governed by the Data Protection Act.
