1998 Discussion Section
The biggest event in 1998 Discussion section, might be nothing but the discussion with Soul Women's University, which was held on 26th June. We became Sister Universities since this year. We discussed about women's position in a society both at Korea and Japan. The discussion itself was very exciting and stimulating for us, even though many problems on organizing and preparing that event. I think we are lucky to have the opportunity to feel different culture directly, and we could look at our culture from different aspects, which I believe, very productive for all Discussion members.
This year, we focused our inner activity on growing inward eyes by various kinds of exercises. We did not only improve our English by watching TV and movies, but also learned many things from its content. Open Discussions which we joined, are Kyoto University Open Discussion, Doshisha University Open Discussion, and Discussion for Freshman at Konan University. In inner activity for those Open Discussions, we rather practiced to understand the structure and its logic of Discussion than to improve the skill of Discussion.
We had the fortune on the number Members in Discussion Section, too; two Juniors, two Sophomores, and five freshmen, which is the largest number so far in our young history. The best thing however, is that we could accomplish our activities with pretty good, comfortable atmosphere, and I do believe that was the most valuable thing, and the precious thing in any kind of group activities.
