Welcome Anthropology people

Well alright, I admit that this page might not intrest anyone who came here for some of the other stuff that I have on this site. But dammit, I like Anthropology. Anyway it's my major, and since I'm the one running this site, I want to put it in.

For those of you who don't know, Anthropology is the study of humans. There are four subdivisions of Anthropology. They are Linguistic Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, and Archeaology.
Linguistic Anthropology is the study of the way humans use language and sounds. It pertains also to cultural differences in the category of languages. Biological Anthropology is the study of human evolution and variation today and in the past. This requires knowledge of genetics and biology. Also included in this field is primatology and genetics. Cultural Anthropology is the study of contemporary human cultures. This requires field work where an anthropologist will observe a cultural group. Also included in this field are ethnobotany and ethnozoology. Archeaology Is the study of past human cultures through their remains. This includes excavating ruins and graves as well as comparison to modern day peoples. These four different categories can be remember by using this phrase "Words, bones, people, and stones".

My favorite field of Anthropology is Archeaology. Anyone interested in the Anthropology Department at UC Davis can take one of the two UC Davis links at the bottom of the page. And hey, I would LOVE an internship. If you want to give me one, you can e-mail me at iiullah@ucdavis.edu.

Here are some Papers that I have written in some of my anthropology classes.

Terms Used by Primatologists. A list of a few terms used in the field of Primatology.

Body Size, Diet, and Female Choice. A not so successfull attempt to find a relationship between these three things.

Analysis of a College Subculture A field study I did of a group of college freshmen.

Conversational Devices A study I did of the application of certain devices used in conversation.

A Comparison of Two Distinct Dialects A study I did comparing two dialects of the English language.

This is just to see how many people are interested in anthropology.
