Study guide for exam #3

You are responsible for the readings that correspond to the lecture material. For the following terms, at a minimum, be able to answer the following questions: What is its definition? If it is a measurement method, be able to briefly describe the procedure and any response biases associated with it. Be able to compare/contrast terms that are related. Be able to perform any calculations (dB HL à dB SPL; corrected hit rate from TSD; Weber's Law). For speech perception items, be able to relate to what is needed to produce a certain sound or perceive speech.

Format of exam : There will be mostly short answer questions. There will be a small number of multiple choice, true and false, and calculations. There will be extra credit questions. This test will require you to be able to relate the concepts that we talked about and will not be easy if you study just for memorization. Try to ask yourself questions that you think might be test questions and answer them.
