Chrysanthemum Moskee Teoh Chia Yin

... pant pant

Ju Hua is one of the 1st people I knew in UCL, even prior to even stepping foot in London. Well, I met her on the 22nd August 98 (giving the exact date sounds makes me sound really anal) during one of those sad loserish Summer "get-to-know-one-another" type of chalet session. Oh but no no! Ju Hua is no loser... well, not all the time lah. You must be wondering how we got such a long ridiculous name for her. Oh for her credibility sake, I will state for a fact that she did not bestow that nickname upon herself because if she did she would be 100% LOSER! Well, we gave it to her cos one night while in a pub called The Professor in Leuven, Belgium, we were all deciding what English names to give those with chinese dialect names only... well, of cos everyone knows that she is called Lynn, but dang she looks like no Lynn... so I decided to rename her Chrysanthemum cos she reminded me of one... dun ask me why but then again she also reminded me of a Cha Siew Pao (in a good way?) and Karen reminds me of a Mama San so my judgment cannot be considered very sound. Jia Ying is a really great friend who is always very on to do everything (including watching Star Trek Insurrection even though she absolutely hates it) and partying is not precluded. This ex-RJC girl does not live up to the stereotype of an RJC student (in Jason's words, it would be Nerdsville). Apologies to all RJC students who are not geeks. Well, Chia Yin is really in a class of her own.. dunno what class that would be though... low class??? Ok ok... even insults... she's really great and my life in London would really be miserable without such a live-wire like her... really love this girl! Stay groovy baby!

This picture was taken at Gordon Square just outside our UCL campus in October 98 when leaves were still falling.
