Kappa Nu "Owned" the Axe Review!

Kneeling, L to R: Paul Berman, Myron Tessler. Standing,
L to R: Art Twain, Rod Levin, Darrell Sevilla, Si Kroll, Bob Lom.

Above is the first KN entry into the Axe Review, in November
of 1956. The Axe Review was a show inviting all campus living groups
to create a musical skit lampooning the "Big Game," and especially
Stanford. The competition was fierce, and 4,000 people turned out
to enjoy the campus antics at the Berkeley Community Theater.
Of course, Kappa Nu took top honors, and a powerful tradition
was born. Kappa Nu won every Axe Review it ever entered,
and many brothers starred as Masters of Ceremonies. The
names "Axe Review" and "Kappa Nu" became synonymous.

More and more talented people began to pledge KN.
It began to be rumored around the campus that the
Kappa Nus no longer "rushed" new members...
they held auditions, instead!
