NU CHAPTER HISTORY

PAVING THE WAY SINCE 1975!!!

Lambda Theta Alpha, Latin Sorority Incorporated, was founded by 17 Ladies from Kean University in 1975. Our sisterhood was founded to promote academic excellence and cultural awareness among minority Ladies. Lambda Theta Alpha, Latin Sorority, Inc. started a chapter at Montclair State University on February 19, 1992.

The chapter was founded by nine ladies of different nationalities, religious beliefs, and majors. As women of different hispanic backgrounds, they believed in academic excellence and looked forward to graduation. By obtaining their degree, they would become a positive role model for Latinas all over the country. They saw Lambda Theta Alpha as a way of attaining that goal. These ladies strongly believed in that goal and were given the opportunity to pledge and become the founding sisters of Nu Chapter. It is thanks to these courageous and strong ladies that Nu Chapter still stands today, as a strong chapter, after seven years.

As of Spring 1999, we have 22 sisters in Nu Chapter and we will continue to grow... We, Lambda Theta Alpha, are comprised of various nationalities and races. "LATIN BY TRADITION, NOT BY DEFINITION". With a strong emphasis on promoting Latino Culture, we also believe in educating and promoting other minority cultures. We thrive day after day by being ground-breaking, innovating, originating, never-imitating Lambda Ladies.

Lambda Theta Alpha, Latin Sorority, Inc. represents a true sisterhood based on...
UNITY, LOVE, AND RESPECT 1
