Clip Point Bowie: This knife has a 7" long blade of Damasteel, contrasted by a beautiful handle of stabilized spalted maple burl.
Texas Mini-Bowie: This small bowie has a D-2 blade measuring 4.75", a mesquite handle, and desert ironwood bolsters.
Utility Knife: A classic Madpoet pattern with a D-2 blade 4.5" long and a desert ironwood handle.
Camp Knives: These two large knives have 7.5" blades of 5160 spring steel. The blades have been blued to give a rustic look to them, and the stock is a thick 1/4". The top knife has African blackwood scales while the second knife is kingwood.
Tanto Letter Opener: This knife is a departure from Mel's distinctly "American" style. It is a tanto-shaped letter opener with a 4" D-2 blade and cocobolo handles. Mel's site had it listed as having a kingwood bolster, but I cannot see it. Can you?
Tanto Letter Opener: Here is the same letter opener in the closed position. The handle and scabbard grain matches perfectly!
"The Edge" Camp Knife: This VERY large knife was commissioned by another Bladeforums member around the same time mine were. It has a 13" long CPM3V blade and an OAL of 18"! The scales are desert ironwood and the bolsters are 1095/nickel silver damascus made by John Etzler.
"The Edge" Camp Knife: A nice detail shot showing off the desert ironwood and damascus handles.
Drop Point Skinner: This knife was unusually decorated by Madpoet standards. It has a 4" D-2 blade with kingwood scales. The bolsters are 1095/nickel silver damascus with a titanium spacer and there is an inlay in the butt of the handle that is Persian turquoise.
Drop Point Hunter: A true Madpoet classic! 3.75" D-2 blade with a simple, but gorgeous, tulipwood handle.
