Riding to Bayombong |
Enroute to Bayombong, you're most likely to stop along the
way to eat. You should be familiar with most of the dishes. Most road stops
are deli-style, or turo-turo(point-point), where you point to the food you want and they
scoop the dish in a bowl and give you a plate of rice to eat it with. Seldom is the
restaurant with a menu. The prices are pretty cheap and will cost about $2 for a
whole meal (Beans and rice cost me about $1.10). Most item cost a
dollar. Converstion
Rate. When eating the rice, chew very slowly and don't chew forcefully. A lot of restaurant have bits of stone in the rice and it could cheap your teeth if you happen to bite on one. Rest room are most often way below US standard. So don't drink the water unless you want to have the runs while on the road. Drink soda until you get to Bayombong where the availability of modern toilet is a convenience. |
