THE INDIFFERENT LAB

PURPOSE: Observe the reactants when provided various chemicals to mix.

MATERIALS: 1) Pippet for each chemical, appropriately labeled

2)
3) goggles
4) Bottles of
A) CaCl2
B) Pb(NO3)2
C) NaC2H3O2
D) BaCl2
E) NaNO3

Safety Hazzards: Mixing chemicals could create explosions, even on a minor scale.

Procedures: 1) Place chemical 1 (CaCl2) in the in "tubes" (1,1) to (1,4)

2) Place chemical 2 (Pb(NO3)2) in (1,4) and (2,1) to (2,3).
3) Chemical 3 (NaC2H3O2) in (1,3), (2,3), and (3,1) to (3,2).
4) Chemical 4 (BaCl2) in (1,2), (2,2), (3,2), and (4,1).
5) Chemeical 5 (NaNO3) in (1,1), (2,1), (3,1), and (4,1).

DATA: Absolutely knothing happened. No reaction, no color change, no reaction at all. This was due to the solubility of all of the chemicals.

CONCLUSION: 1) A reactant is a ssubstance that will undergo a reaction.

2) A product is the result of the reaction.
3) There were no reactions
4) This conclusively was a waste of a lab.
