SETI@home

I've joined team ufies team for the Seti@home project. I don't traditionally hunt the net for alien sightings or anything, but this project is really cool and beneficial!!! Especially if you're into alien hunting or distributed computing. The whole concept is great.

All you have to do to participate is download a small program and it runs in the background on your computer. For those of you using a Windows or Mac based computer, it runs as a screen saver. For linux and unix servers, you can just set it up as a background process. The software is only available from one home page (so that they can control the source code). Which makes sense, you don't want other people distributing altered code that could place a trojan horse or virus on your computer.
