Spoons

ABrief History of Spoons
an excerpt from an essay by H. Sebastian Menrath

Spoons have played an important role in our society.  Imagine what life would be like without any spoons. It wouldn't be good at all.  Because people wouldn't be able to eat properly, there would be famines everywhere.  And wars, too.
Spoons say more about a place and time that any other souvenir.  In particular, the "Paris" spoon (MenrathCollection Number: 8162) says more about Paris than any novel or painting ever could.  It features "Paris" written in stunning, bold text. And, the spoon is topped off by the Eiffel Tower.  When H. Sebastian Menrath found this spoon on the Champs Elysees, he was entranced by its beauty.  The "Paris" spoon is the epitome of the city because it has the Eiffel Tower (or tour Eiffel, as the French call it) just like Paris does.
