![]() ![]() I have not updated this in forever. I have loved and lost many a television show, and had a few jobs, and added a Masters degree in the time since my last update, but am not currently inclined to update this page. Perhaps another time!
I grew up in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada. We actually lived in St. Eleanors which is a short distance outside of Summerside. I attended Greenfield Elementary School until I was 12, when my family moved to Mississauga, Ontario. After moving around a fair bit in Mississauga I ended up in Port Credit - South Eastern Mississauga.
I completed a B.A. at the University of Toronto at Mississauga with a double major in Crime & Deviance, and Philosophy. I am considering upgrading that to an Honours B.A. in future since I only need a few more courses. I recently took Marketing 1 at Sheridan College, and will probably continue to take more business courses there part time.
I have a large bottle cap collection (about 1000 different caps at last count) by normal standards, but it is actually quite small compared to some people who have thousands. Check out some of my links to discover good beer brewing in your own backyard! (If you want to try homebrewing, it could be in your backyard literally!) Comics: I am a big fan of both comic books and comic strips. I stopped buying comic books a long time ago since the cost adds up quickly. I still read the comic strips every day though! I get them e-mailed to me from Comics.com and UComics.com My favourites include Calvin & Hobbes, Get Fuzzy, and Shermans Lagoon. For Better or For Worse offers a serial look into the life of the Patterson family, while Non Sequitur and The Boondocks offer some biting social commentary along with the laughs. I highly recommend you check out all of them and see for yourself! Intellectual: I like a good intellectual debate every now and then. Topics that I frequently rant on about include philosophy, politics, and frequently environmental and social issues. Movies & Television: I watch a lot of movies. I counted - I have seen over 1000 separate movies, and continue to watch. One of my goals for this year is to cross 50 of the American Film Institutes Top 100 movies off the list. I have seen about 34 of them so far. The TV shows that I watch regularly are Ed, The Simpsons, Trading Spaces and a few others semi-regularly such as Law & Order, The Practice, Judging Amy, Gilmore Girls and Frasier. Music: I enjoy a wide range of music from rock, pop and rap, to electronica and classical. Some of my favourite bands include Pearl Jam, The Tragically Hip, 54 40, and Weezer. Some of my favourite songs are Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Amazing Grace on the bagpipes, Jeremy by Pearl Jam (for obvious reasons), Scared by The Tragically Hip. Photography: I am a very enthusiastic photographer. Some days I am a pretty decent photographer, and other days just a shutterbug! I am always striving to learn more though, especially in the areas of digital photography and digital imaging. Sports: I played football (guard and tackle, mostly "left bench") and rugby (2nd row) in high school. Currently I participate in leagues for softball and volleyball, as well as playing pick up ball hockey with friends. I am just learning to golf. I am terrible at it, but I like it a lot. Reading: I enjoy reading, though I don't do as much of it as I used to, or as much as I'd like. For more about my reading habits check the Smart Stuff section.
Family trips included stops in Maine, Florida, and points in between. Mostly in Canada and the States. The Lorne Park rugby team went on tour in the UK one year, visiting England and Wales. More recently I made a trip out east with stops in New Brunswick and PEI to visit family and friends, with a stop in Chambly, Quebec to visit a restaurant. More details in the road trip section. I haven't had the time or money to leave the country in the last little bit, but hopefully that will change down the road. Places I would love to go include Ireland, England again, and Belgium. Some sort of African safari trip has always been in the back of my mind as well, and someone recently suggested walking across Spain which sounds exciting. There are also lots of little places in Canada, and Ontario that I would like to visit. ![]() ![]() ![]() These pages look best at 1024x768 resolution. |
