Everyday there are several acts of violence shown on television. A study was done by four universites and they found that of nearly 2,700 shows analyzed in a twenty week survey of twenty-three channels, 57% were said to cantain at least some violence (Zoglin, 58). Many people believe that violence on television has contributed to the rising number of crimes in America. Leonard Eron supports what many people think by proving that the television is responsible for only ten percent of the violent behavior in this country but if we could reduce violence by ten percent, that would be a great achievement (Mortimer, 19). |
