The listserv address is the address used to subscribe to and to unsubscribe
from a listserv discussion group. Some basic commands to join the list are given
below:
Subscribing to a list: To subscribe to a listserv discussion group,
send the following message to the desired listserv address:
sub listname, or
subscribe listname yourfirstname yourlastname
Unsubscribing from a list: To unsubscribe from a list, send the following message
to the listserv address:
SIGNOFF listname, or
unsubscribe listname
Suspend: To temporarily suspend your subscription, send
to the listserv address:
set listname nomail
Reactivate: To reactivate your subscription, send to the
listserv address:
set listname mail
Query: To check your subscription status, send to the
listserv address:
query listname
The list's address is the e-address for posting MESSAGES (including news, questions, etc.)
for discussion. DO NOT SEND (don't even think about it!) subscription
requests to this address unless you want to display your (fill in the blank) to the audience of the list!
