In the summer of 1997 I went to Israel to take part in an archaeological excavation. This dig through the Combined Caesarea Expeditions. I got involved because one of my professors at the University of Maryland was a director at the dig. I highly recommend this sort of work for any student interested in archaeology, classical civilizations, or travel.
